Full Explanation

Most nursing routes require strong science subjects. For ND/HND and BNSc pathways, candidates commonly need English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at credit level, plus the correct JAMB/UTME route where required.

Requirements can differ by programme and institution, so the safest habit is to check the school advert, JAMB IBASS, and the relevant regulator before payment.

Key Things to Remember

WAEC, NECO and NABTEB may be accepted depending on the institution and programme.

Many schools allow not more than two sittings, but confirm the advert.

Direct Entry and transfer rules are institution-specific.

Health professional routes may require original credentials later, so keep them safe.

Comparison Table

Requirement What to check
WAEC/NECO/NABTEB Five relevant credits, usually including English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
JAMB Correct subject combination and school/course selection.
Direct Entry Accepted prior qualification, transcript and school policy.
Transfer Accreditation compatibility, transcript, vacant space and school approval.

Practical Advice

Treat this chapter as a decision guide. Before you pay for any form, exam, transcript, verification or travel process, compare the requirement with your exact programme, school, qualification and career goal. Nursing rewards careful documentation.
